Czech Republic, Poland close airspace for Russian planes

MOSCOW/PRAGUE/WARSAW, Feb 25 (PRIME) -- The Czech Republic and Poland have decided to close their airspace for Russian planes, Czech Transport Minister Martin Kupka and Press Secretary of Poland’s government Piotr Mueller said on Friday.

“In light of the events in Ukraine, the Czech Republic’s airspace will be closed for all Russian air companies from the midnight between Friday and Saturday,” Kupka said.

“The corresponding legal acts are being adopted immediately. The ban will be in force from the midnight,” Mueller said in his Twitter account.

Russian air company S7 Airlines said it has cancelled all flights to Europe from Saturday through March 13 due to the decisions.
